No More, No Less

In the one year that I've been working in the recruitment industry, I have seen different faces of people. Somehow, I have come to the conclusion that respect seem to be selective. There is a difference in tone when applicants talk to me not knowing that I am child of the owner and how treatment changes once people find out. Should respect dwindle as people go down the ranks? Do we give respect more from those whom we need more? Every breathing being long for the same kind of self-respect and dignity. Teenagers who live in Greenhills, Alabang, Corinthins, etc. long for acceptance as much as those in the slums. If Aga Muhlach makes the masses shreik, I know hell lot of Class A's who does too! It is only material wealth that creates social classes, but every heart beats for the same wants and needs. No more, no less.

In one of my blog posts, I quoted the Harry Potter character Sirius Black as saying, "If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals." Even though society tends to bestow more respect on those in its upper echelons, it should actually distribute it equally among all its members. Respect shouldn't be selective, but sadly, we are conditioned to kowtow to the high and mighty and turn our noses down on the lowly. I suppose the important thing is, there are those decent people among us who recognize that all human beings, regardless of their station in life, deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect.

Wow. Didn't realize people still check my blog even after a few months of being idle. Thanks! Well, in our own way, we just hope to lead by example. Hoping that our little efforts somehow be paid forward :) Educator tlga! haha!
